We offer a variety of specialized optional services to enhance your publishing experience:
Hardcover Format – $449
If you would like to have your book done as a hardcover, you can purchase this option at the time your manuscript is being formatted. You can choose either the dust-cover version or the case-bound version as long as your book is at least 108 pages. With either option, there are three sizes to choose from: 5.5 x 8.5, 6 x 9, or 7 x 10. You will receive two sample copies of your book in whichever hardcover option you select. Of course, the price of the hardcover version is greater than the paperback version of our regular publishing packages, so be prepared for this when ordering author copies in the future. Your Project Manager can give you the price breakdowns that apply to your particular project.

Custom Cover Design – $249
Our standard Manuscript to Book-in-Hand Publishing Package includes two cover and two interior design layouts created by our Design Staff. Should you have a cover design in mind that is non-standard, then this option would be the one for you to choose. We desire your book to be as professional and marketable as you do, and we realize that just about every author has a picture in mind for what they want their book to look like. To make a Custom Cover Design, special photo or art work must be purchased, special lay-out must be performed, and the proofing process is much more involved. We are more than happy to work with you to make your dream a reality. If the two standard designs you receive don't fit what you have in mind, then let's get that fixed, shall we?

Complex Interior Formatting – $449
If your book has a lot of alternating paragraph styles, a significant number of bulleted or ordered lists or cross-references, is double-columned, or has custom headers or footers, you will need complex interior formatting.

Including Your Index – $249
An index is the alphabetized list of names or subjects that appears at the end of a nonfiction book and gives page numbers for each entry in the book. If you elect to create your own index instead of having us do it for you (see Indexing under Editorial Services), you will need to do so after you have received your paginated proof from us. Once received, you will need to insert the correct page numbers for each index entry and then submit the updated proof to us for final prepress.

Placement of Interior Images and/or Tables – $249 per 25
If your manuscript contains photos or images, charts, tables, or drawings, the cost is $249 for each block of 25. (1–25 interior images would cost $249, 26-50 interior images would cost $498). Images must be provided in computer files of the format specified in the section on "Find and Upload Files" on the Final Manuscript Checklist. See our online help documentation for preparing your digital image files. You must also have permission or the legal right to use the images that are submitted.

Footnote or Endnotes – $99
You need this option if you have either footnotes or endnotes, even if it is only one. Your book editor will include the footnotes or endnotes that you provide, using an industry-standard style.
Note: Footnotes and endnotes must be prepared using your word processor’s automated footnote/endnote feature. Do not enter and number your footnotes manually.

Hard Copy Proofs of Covers and Internal Pages – $49
Every author is provided with free electronic proofs, via email, of their book throughout the pre-publication process. At you request and for a nominal fee, you may receive printed proofs via US Mail. This will also add time to the publishing process, so please keep this in mind.
